A Tempering Valve regulates the temperature of water from a Hot Water System to a desired temperature at the outlet point of the hot water fixture

eg: basin spout, shower rose, bath spout.

 

It is now law in Queensland on every new house and alterations to a bathroom on an existing house be fitted with a tempering valve, which tempers the water to 49°.

 

Also if replacing your existing Hot Water Unit, it is law to install a Tempering Valve.
